Let’s Keep Wildwood Welcoming for Families

Wildwood, NJ – May 2025
As we launch a new season on the Wildwood Boardwalk, we want to balance a successful summer for all merchants with the increased need for public safety and preserving our town’s family-friendly reputation. Our business owners are also our eyes and ears, and the City of Wildwood is committed to working in full cooperation with you to keep the boardwalk #1 in the USA. 🌊🌟
10 PM Curfew for Minors Is in Effect
Wildwood’s 10:00 PM curfew for minors is being strictly enforced this season. 🕙 Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian after 10 PM or risk consequences for both teens AND guardians. This is not just a recommendation—it’s the law.
The curfew is part of our “Every Night Is a Family Night” initiative to ensure the boardwalk remains safe, enjoyable, and welcoming for all ages. Merchants are encouraged to help share this message and alert authorities when necessary.

For All Boardwalk Businesses
No Merchandise or Signage on the Boardwalk
All items must remain inside the building line.
Exceptions: Weekdays in May (before Memorial Day) and September (after Labor Day) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. only. No weekend displays permitted. 🛍️
Important note: No chairs, tables, or picnic benches are allowed on the boardwalk. These are not considered merchandise and are not permitted under any circumstances. ❌🪑
Maintain a Family-Friendly Storefront
Ensure all visible items are appropriate for all ages. Suggestive merchandise should be placed out of public view. Clean entrances, painted roll-down gates, and tidy signage help make a strong impression.
Vape Sales: Full Compliance Required🚭
Selling vape products to minors is illegal, and flavored vapes are banned statewide.
In late 2024, the City enacted a strong vape retail ordinance requiring:
No vape sales to minors
No flavored products
Age verification for all purchases
No vape advertising visible from the boardwalk
Compliance will be strictly enforced. Retailers found in violation will be cited.
Attention Rental Property Owners
If you rent your home—through Airbnb, VRBO, or private listings—you must have a valid Mercantile License.
The City actively monitors rentals and will enforce licensing laws. Operating without a license may result in fines or penalties.
To Comply:
Apply at the City Clerk’s Office
Update your listings to reflect your license
Take action now to avoid disruptions
Keep Rentals Peaceful and Respectful
Screen guests carefully to prevent parties, overcrowding, or disruptive behavior
Post the 10 PM minor curfew clearly in your rental
Let’s work together to ensure a safe, successful season for residents, merchants, property owners, and guests. 💛
