Please contact our office to schedule the fire inspection at 609-846-2030 or via email at fireprev@wildwoodnj.org -
2020 Business Registration fees are still required to be paid. Late fee penalties will not be added until June 15, 2020. Please remit fees as soon as possible. -
The Fire inspector will wear a mask while performing the inspection and maintain social distancing of 6’. -
The property owner or designee will wear a mask if they request to shadow the fire inspector and maintain social distancing of 6’. -
If the property or unit being inspected has occupants, we request that the occupants step outside of the building while the inspection is being performed. -
If any occupants may be sick, that property or unit will not be inspected. It will be the responsibility of the owner to make arrangements to re-schedule. -
If the fire inspection reveals violations, please make every effort to correct the violations by the abatement date. Due to the ongoing pandemic, if you are unable to comply by the abatement date, please contact this office regarding a request for time extension. -
Any questions regarding the above procedures, please reach out to our office. Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding during this time period. -
Condo: If the owner or designee can not be present for the inspection, our office requires the owner email a letter, giving written permission for the Fire Prevention Bureau to utilize keys from the Knox-Box to access their unit. THIS IS A ONE TIME USE DURING THIS PANDEMIC. THIS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED THE FOLLOWING YEARS.

Hard-wire (electric) smoke alarms are required to be replaced if they are 10 years or older their manufacture date. This date is on the back of the smoke alarm. If no date, then it is over 10 yeas old.

As of January 1, 2019, all battery operated smoke alarms are to be replaced with 10 year sealed-battery operated units for building that were built prior to 1977. Please make sure when you purchase, they have the seal designation of "UL Listed". These are federally regulated.
