ABOUT WILDWOOD

The City of Wildwood was incorporated in 1912 and is situated on a barrier island comprised of five separate municipalities consisting of Wildwood, North Wildwood, West Wildwood, Wildwood Crest
and Diamond Beach which is governed by Lower Township.

Feel free to sit on our wide, free, sandy beach and bask in a sunshine drenched day. Swim in the warm blue ocean or ride a wave on our newly designated surfing beach. Now that the sultry dog days of summer are waning, why not bring your favorite four-legged member of the family to romp on our dog beach...
rated as one of the best in the nation.

The months of September and October are always filled with fun. Motorcyclists throughout the nation will ride into Wildwood for the annual Roar to the Shore. Have a hankering to see fire trucks up close and personal? Then come to Wildwood for the New Jersey State Firemen’s Convention and Parade.

Autumn is the perfect time to enjoy a festival in the city where every day’s a holiday. We invite you to taste your way through our Italian Festival or Seafood and Music Festival. The Fabulous 50s and Beyond Weekend brings to life Wildwood’s long history as the mecca of rock ‘n’ roll.

Cars are king in Wildwood and the Fall Classic Car Show is the perfect place to fall in love with classic and muscle cars. Want something bigger than a convertible or sedan? Then be sure to visit the Monsters on the Beach weekend where monster trucks growl across the dunes on Wildwood’s huge beach.

The Downtown Fall Farmers’ Market offers the chance to enjoy an open air marketplace where local farmers and vendors sell their wares. When stopping by your favorite stand be sure to take a moment to chat, smell the ocean and listen to sound of children laughing while gulls call to the sea.

Music and dance concerts fill the salty air with the sounds of the city while gourmets feast on treats that range from international cuisine to Boardwalk fare.

Speaking of our world-famous Boardwalk, nothing is as wonderful as starting your day with a bike ride along the 2-mile wooden way. Listen to the roar of the ocean and the call of the gulls as the autumnal sun sparkles as it kisses the sea. Later on, be sure to enjoy the many amusements and shops that line our boardwalk just waiting for your visit.

Ask a local resident or a long-time visitor and they will tell you the insider’s secret – the months after Labor Day are the best time to live in or to visit our city by the sea. Here’s to falling in love with your Wildwood days.

Here’s to your Wildwood day!
