Further, Wildwood City Commissioners recognize cycling as a primary tourist recreational activity as well as a practical mode of transportation throughout the city. They have asked the City Engineer to look into the possibility of creating a bike path through Wildwood to create a year-round safe space for riders.
Per Greater Wildwoods Tourism https://wildwoodsnj.com/attraction/bike-path-through-the-wildwoods/
Cyclists can enjoy a FREE scenic bike route that runs nearly the entire length of the
5-mile island, beginning at the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge in Wildwood Crest. The beach side bicycle path runs north, continuing on the world famous Wildwoods Boardwalk at Cresse Avenue via the bike ramp connector. The Boardwalk stretches 1.85 miles north to a connecting ramp between 15th and 16th Avenues in North Wildwood. From there, cyclists can continue along a path parallel to the beach along JFK Blvd. A special “bikes only” lane is also dedicated throughout the length of North Wildwood, from 1st to 26th Avenues along Surf Avenue. Bicycles are allowed on the Boardwalk from 5 a.m. until 1 p.m.
For those interested in buying or renting bikes, the Wildwoods has many bike companies from which to choose. Safe Riding!
This term expires 10/1/2020.
