Modified Fire Inspection Procedures
Fire inspections will commence Monday May 18, 2020. Fire inspections will have some modification to ensure the safety of the residents, occupants and fire inspector. Here is a list of the modifications:
Please contact our office to schedule the fire inspection at 609-846-2030 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
2020 Business Registration fees are still required to be paid. Late fee penalties will not be added until June 15, 2020. Please remit fees as soon as possible.
The Fire inspector will wear a mask while performing the inspection and maintain social distancing of 6’.
The property owner or designee will wear a mask if they request to shadow the fire inspector and maintain social distancing of 6’.
If the property or unit being inspected has occupants, we request that the occupants step outside of the building while the inspection is being performed.
If any occupants may be sick, that property or unit will not be inspected. It will be the responsibility of the owner to make arrangements to re-schedule.
If the fire inspection reveals violations, please make every effort to correct the violations by the abatement date. Due to the ongoing pandemic, if you are unable to comply by the abatement date, please contact this office regarding a request for time extension.
Any questions regarding the above procedures, please reach out to our office. Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding during this time period.
Condo: If the owner or designee can not be present for the inspection, our office requires the owner email a letter, giving written permission for the Fire Prevention Bureau to utilize keys from the Knox-Box to access their unit. THIS IS A ONE TIME USE DURING THIS PANDEMIC. THIS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED THE FOLLOWING YEARS.
