CITY OF WILDWOOD

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from the City of Wildwood to construct the Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction project in Wildwood Cape, May County, New Jersey.


Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), EDA is assessing the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties.  Notice is hereby given that the project is proposed to be located in, or may affect, a floodplain and/or wetland as defined by Executive Order (EO) 11988 and/or EO 11990, and may include mechanisms to be utilized to mitigate the impacts of the EDA Project.


The project, the Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction, will be located between Burk and south of Hand Avenues on the boardwalk. This project is an in-kind replacement of the existing boardwalk and does not expand the structure or cause additional disturbance to the sandy beach. Comments received in the EDA Regional Office by 5:00 pm eastern on September 30, 2025. A copy of the NEPA/NHPA decisional document will be available upon request at the above EDA Regional office.
