Parking Meters Are On Until October 31, 2021

Updated: May 20, 2021

Commissioner of Public Safety, Steve Mikulski, would like to remind residents and visitors that parking meters are on May 15, 2021, through October 31, 2021. Times of meter operation are 8:00am to 3:00am seven days a week, including Holidays.

Here is an FAQ to help you park with ease:

Where are the meters?

The majority of Wildwood has free street parking, but meters are located along Pacific Avenue on the east side up to Ocean Avenue. Please note that the City of Wildwood covers the south side of 26th Street and the North Side of Cresse Avenue only. The other side is covered by North Wildwood or Wildwood Crest, respectively.

How do you pay for your meter?

Each meter takes coins OR you can use the Park Mobile app which will send you alerts when your meter is about to expire so that you can reload the meter right from your smartphone. Not all meters accept coins. We honor Veteran’s Purple Hearts License Tags for free parking.

Who is exempt from paying for meters?

Drivers operating a vehicle with a handicap placard or handicapped license plate must put the appropriate amount of money into the meter. If the vehicle will occupy the space for more than the maximum amount the meter holds, the driver must fill the meter to the maximum amount. That will permit the driver to occupy that space for 24 hours, and no further payment will be required at that time.

Can I get a Parking Permit?

Yes, Parking Permits are available for the City of Wildwood ONLY; they are not valid in North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, West Wildwood, etc.

Permit A: $250 - All meters on the streets; no lots are included.

Permit B: $150 - West of Atlantic Avenue (not on Atlantic Ave.) to New Jersey Avenue.

Block: $100 - Valid for one block; only on one side of the block. Not valid around the other three sides of the block.

Weekly: $50 - Valid for 7 consecutive days.

Residential: FREE - One free parking permit per household without a driveway. Must apply via City Clerk's Office to be verified by Police Department. Must prove ownership of residence.

To get a permit, fill out this Application for Residential Parking Meter Permit and bring it to the Clerk's Office.

Prohibited: The parking of trailers, camp cars or similar recreational vehicles. You must make arrangements with a private lot.

What do I do if I get a parking ticket?

Dispute it: If you wish to plead “not guilty,” call (609)522-4924 or go online to wildwoodnj.org under Municipal Court and fill out the Plea by Mail form and forward this form to our office at 115 West Davis Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260.

How do I report a broken meter?

Do not park at the meter; you might be ticketed. Call the City of Wildwood Police Department at 522-0222.

If you have any questions, you can email info@wildwoodnj.org, but please keep in mind this email is not monitored 24/7.
