The City of Wildwood would like to make the public aware of several parking changes for the 2024 season.
Parking rates will increase tomorrow, May 9, 2024, to coincide with the early activation of the parking meters which will run through October 31, 2024. This change was approved tonight in the Board of Commissioners meeting and is proposed for this year only.
Additionally, it has been determined that parking rates need to be permanently increased to offset a tax rate increase, to alleviate parking deficiencies, and to reduce congestion in high traffic areas for the health, safety, and welfare of the community. The last parking rate increase was in 2013.
The new parking rates will be:
$3.00 per hour on New Jersey Avenue (from 26th Avenue to Cresse Avenue) and all side streets to, but not including Pacific Avenue; and
$4.00 per hour on Pacific Avenue (from 26th Avenue to Cresse Avenue) and all side streets to, but not including Atlantic Avenue; and
$5.00 per hour on Atlantic Avenue (from 26th Avenue to Cresse Avenue) and all side streets to the Boardwalk.
Additionally, the City of Wildwood would like to make the public aware of a change to metered parking.
Anyone who parks at a parking meter with the Park Mobile App is expected to pay for the entirety of time they use the spot. This applies to those parking with handicap placards.
Previously, the City allowed those displaying handicap placards to pay the full meter once, so that they did not have to leave the beach, boardwalk, or businesses to feed the meters. The convenience of the Park Mobile app allows for easy reloading. The app sends alerts for time expiration and allows the parkee to reload directly on the app for extended time.
The last parking rate increase was in 2013. URL

Parking should be expensive to encourage more efficient use of space, reduce traffic congestion, and promote public transportation. High parking costs can discourage excessive car usage, helping to lower pollution and improve urban environments. It also creates an incentive for cities to invest in sustainable transport options, like biking and walking, while minimizing overcrowded parking areas. iogamesio.com
