In the Commissioners' Meeting last night, Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Commissioner of Public Safety, Steve Mikulski provided an update on the residents' request for meters on the 200 block of East Bennett and East Hildreth avenues.

Here is a draft of the letter to residents:

Dear Resident:

You recently responded to the city’s letter requesting your thoughts of having parking meters installed on the 200 Block of Hildreth and Bennett Avenues for the upcoming summer season. As a result of your comments, as well as a petition from residents on Bennett Avenue supporting the initiative, the city is moving forward with installing parking meters on all of Bennett Avenue.

The responses from residents on Hildreth Avenue indicated both support and opposition to the meters. In light of the mixed responses, meters will only be installed on selected parking spaces where residents favored them for a trial period this season. [The issue will be re-addressed in the fall of 2021.]

We would like to thank you for taking the time to assist our efforts in evaluating solutions to alleviate parking concerns, and we look forward to your continued participation in helping us make important decisions that impact our neighborhoods. Always be assured, your opinion counts. Thank you again.

Commissioner Mikulski would like to thank everyone for taking the time to assist our efforts in evaluating solutions to alleviate parking concerns; this was a challenging decision to make. We look forward to your continued participation in helping us make important decisions that impact our neighborhoods.

Check out ParkMobile and the app for visitors' ease of use. It should be noted, all cars parked in this marked off area will have to abide by the city parking meter regulations.
