Mayor Around Town - 8/10/22

It's been another busy few weeks of weddings, family gatherings, church services and community celebrations that Mayor Pete was invited to join. Here's what you missed:

Weddings

Two more lovely couples said "I do" while Mayor Pete officiated. There's nothing like a beach wedding!

Cristopher Carpenter and Carolann Regnell

Vicki and Shawn Burke

Church

Mayor Pete is often asked to guest speak at various churches. A devout Catholic, he is always thrilled to celebrate with all denominations. Asbury Baptist Church is among his favorite places and parishioners.

Minister Desiree Whitfield celebrated Christmas in July with Mayor Pete, Commissioner Fitzsimons and Commissioner Mikulski.

Country

Mayor Pete was honored to be invited to the home and celebration of Master Sergeant Lawrence Park. Sgt. Park proudly served our country by joining the Navy in 1980 and reenlisting after 9/11 with the NJ National Guard. Total years of service...27! These years included multiple deployments for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. We thank you so much for your service that we named July 23, 2022, as Master Sergeant Lawrence Park Day. Well earned and thank you!

Community

EVERYONE who lives in the Wildwoods knows John Lynch! He works tirelessly at the Convention Center and even moreso in the community with all Wildwoods kids! Always alongside his bride, Vicky, the two donate immeasurable time, resources and love to make sure everyone is taken care of at Christmastime and beyond. Check out his non-profit Lunch with Lynch Foundation and be sure to celebrate August 2, 2022 as John Lynch Day - by order of the Mayor and Commissioners!

Family

Jean Koroly never fails to invite Mayor Pete to their annual family photo at Mack's. Check out the "other" Pete...from Mack's in purple. That's alotta pizza! Scroll slide show.

Local Legislators

Mayor Pete attended a Coffee & Conversation on August 7th at Oceanview Restaurant in Cape May hosted by Mayor Martinez and sponsored by Jersey 1st. Senator Mike Testa and Assemblymen McClellan and Simonsen were there to network and discuss local issues of importance.

FYI Mayor Byron travels the state all year long to meet with bipartisan representatives throughout the state. He proudly works across all aisles - churches and parties.
