Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP)

On behalf of the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management, we are writing to inform you that Cape May County and its municipalities are currently updating their Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP).  The plan provides an opportunity for us to detail an array of potential hazards that could affect some or all of our residents and will allow us to remain eligible for future Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) funding from FEMA.

The HMP serves as a “blueprint” for our county and municipalities to use to help us make coordinated, cost-effective efforts towards reducing losses and becoming more resilient to natural disasters.  As part of the planning process, we are asking stakeholders for input on hazard mitigation in Cape May County.  To collect input, we are asking each stakeholder to complete a quick survey.  The survey can be accessed by clicking on the following link: https://forms.gle/R6ZBSguBdftTHTfy6

Additionally, if you live or work in Cape May County, please take our citizen survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CMC2020HMP) to help us collect input on preparedness for hazard events.

Please help us by visiting the sites referenced above and complete the quick surveys.  This will help us obtain valuable information for the planning process and mitigation strategy.  Sections of the plan will be available for download and review at the Cape May County HMP website (https://www.capemaycounty2020hmp.com/).

Cape May County and the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management thanks you for helping us collect essential information to help us create a more resilient County.
