Enjoy Mild Fall Weather on a Workcation or Schoolcation in the Wildwoods, NJ

Many accommodations offer FREE WiFi - making it easy to work virtually

while the kids attend remote school!

The Wildwoods, NJ – September 16, 2020 – With many continuing to work remotely, and kids attending school via a virtual classroom, the Wildwoods offer the perfect opportunity for families to experience a new kind of vacation – known as ‘workcation’ and/or a ‘schoolcation’.

“Many families now have the ability to bring their work and classrooms wherever they go; and with FREE WiFi available at many hotels/motels, our beautiful shore destination serves as the perfect location to get your work done while enjoying a Wildwoods vacation,” said Executive Director/CFO of GWTIDA John Siciliano.

Easily convert the beach, your room or rental home to an office or classroom overlooking the ocean, boardwalk or the bays. The Wildwoods offer over 11,000 lodging accommodations, including 8,000 hotel and motel rooms, and over 3,000 vacation rentals. There’s no shortage of cool, mid-century themed hotels/motels, as well as other businesses who embrace their predecessor buildings from the 1950s and

‘60s in architecture, décor and color – an architectural style known as “Doo Wop” – throughout the five-mile island.

Kick-off your ‘workcation’ and ‘schoolcation’ each day with ‘Beach Therapy’. Take a leisurely stroll while enjoying the mild weather of fall before opening your laptop and getting down to work and studies. Once you go virtual, your day will be enhanced by the enjoyment of the Wildwoods seashore ambiance right outside your window!

Post-work or schooling activities may include soaking up the warm sun and escaping the chaos of the world on the beautiful white-sand, FREE and spacious beaches of Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest. After summer, the fall season is the second most popular time of year for vacationers to visit the Wildwoods. Known as the resort’s ‘Second Season’, visitors can savor the flavors of fall, reap priceless memories with loved ones, and enjoy a serene escape or a thrilling adventure! The island resort is the ideal fall vacation destination – with minimal crowds, milder weather, a fun-filled boardwalk, prime hotels/motel locations at money-saving rates, great restaurants offering indoor and outdoor dining, and unique fall activities.

Boardwalk amusement piers will close for season on Sunday, September 27, but there is still plenty to do and discover along the 38-block wooden way — known as “two miles of smiles.” Participating retail businesses along the Boardwalk, in Downtown Wildwood, and throughout the Wildwoods remain open throughout the fall. Retail shops in the Wildwoods are plentiful and unique, and include: surf shops for everything you need to enjoy the beach and ocean; sweet shops for that must-have salt water taffy and fudge; t-shirt shops for a unique or kitschy shirt or Wildwoods sweatshirt; souvenir shops where you can find take-home tchotchkes and memorabilia to remember your Wildwoods visit; shoe stores, men’s and women’s sportswear, beachwear and apparel, jewelry and so much more. Shoppers are free to browse and make purchases; masks are required for both shoppers and employees and proper distancing is strongly encouraged.

The Wildwoods are home to unique restaurants and eateries, as well as popular breweries and distilleries, most of which offer indoor and outdoor dining options. In the fall, these favored Wildwoods landmarks embrace the change of season by offering one-of-a-kind autumn inspired creations. Fall dining is unique in the Wildwoods – only here can you sip on a seasonal brew while savoring the fresh catch of the day in the autumn air.

The iconic Boardwalk is also open for strolling, jogging and biking – there’s no better way to take in the incredible views of the lively destination, beach and ocean.

If you prefer pedal power, no town seems to do biking better than the Wildwoods, NJ. The Wildwoods have coined the word ‘Bikeability’ to capture all of the amazing biking opportunities throughout the destination, especially during the fall months! A FREE bike route runs nearly the entire length of the five-mile island, starting at the southern end of the island in Wildwood Crest on the Dunes Bike Path; up onto the Wildwoods Boardwalk for a 2.5-mile ride to take in the sights and sounds of the shore; then onto the North Wildwood Mulberry Bike Path and on to the famous North Wildwood Sea Wall. There’s also a special ‘bikes only’ lane dedicated to cyclists in North Wildwood along some of its major thoroughfares.

Grab your laptops, tablets and books, load up the car, and enjoy a ‘workcation’ and ‘schoolcation’ in the Wildwoods!
