The City of Wildwood is proud to present a free patriotic concert on Saturday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m. in Fox Park, featuring the renowned 78th Army Band. This special performance celebrates 250 years of the United States Army and brings powerful, high-energy music to the Jersey Shore during one of the most patriotic weekends of the year.

The 78th Army Band, based out of Fort Dix, NJ and Fort Totten, NY, is one of the premier U.S. Army Reserve musical units in the nation. Their performance will feature three of their most dynamic ensembles:

  • Checkmate – The band’s premier rock/pop group, known for high-energy sets that span classic rock, funk, modern country, and more. They’ve shared the stage with major acts including 38 Special and Stone Temple Pilots, playing to audiences of over 40,000.

  • 9X9 – A punk rock ensemble delivering raw energy and early 2000s nostalgia. Their intense performances and fast-paced sound have earned them big festival stages and a loyal following.

  • Liberty Vibes – A Latin fusion group blending salsa, Latin pop, and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Their vibrant style has brought rhythm and joy to signature events like the Philadelphia 4th of July Parade and the Intrepid Museum Memorial Day Concert in New York City.

Each band will perform for approximately 30–45 minutes, with the full concert wrapping up around 9:00 p.m. The event is free to the public, and all are welcome. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and flags—and join your neighbors for a powerful night of music and patriotism under the stars.
