 City of Wildwood:  Director of Water

The City of Wildwood is seeking a Director of Water.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong operations management, leadership and budget management skills.  The individual shall have at least 5 years’ experience in the supervision and management of personnel engaged in both daily and project level activities.   General knowledge of the operations of water treatment, distribution and collection facilities is required, as are good record keeping and report writing capabilities.  Engineering degree preferred but not required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsibilities include but not limited to directing personnel to ensure optimal daily operations of the water department, oversight of all maintenance and operations with supervisory personnel and unionized employees, budgeting, long range and strategic planning, public contracting and purchasing compliance.  Candidates should possess good supervisory, organizational and management skills. Project management some of which includes grants.

The Director of Water will coordinate activities of department personnel in their daily duties, ensures personnel under his or her direction perform their various functions in an accurate and responsible manner to provide for an efficient operation. Ensures all personnel are properly trained for the work required and the safe and efficient use of equipment and facilities Is responsible for maintaining pertinent records and files of personnel, equipment, materials, work performed, and time allocated to various projects. Participates in the preparation of yearly estimates of the personnel, equipment, materials and supplies that should be adequate to maintain the water distribution system in good condition. To take appropriate remedial action when problems arise. Salary will commensurate with experience.
